Unsupported desktop system, rebuilt as SaaS

A vendor-abandoned desktop application with business logic trapped on workstations. We analyzed the system, extracted its database and internal processing, and rebuilt the whole thing as a custom SaaS web application.

The situation

The desktop app still ran the operation, but nobody could extend it. The vendor was gone. The data model and processing rules existed only inside the binary and its local database. A greenfield rebuild without extraction would have thrown away the logic operators already trusted.

What we did

Analyzed the unsupported desktop application end to end — behavior, data, and edge cases.
Extracted and normalized the database, including the processing rules encoded in it.
Documented internal processing logic that had never been written down.
Rebuilt the system as a multi-user SaaS web application, preserving operational truth.

Where it landed

The operation moved off a dead desktop stack onto a web platform that can be extended, hosted, and handed to a team — without inventing a new business process from scratch.
